A bit about Rachel …

Rachel Hoover photo

In her free time, Rachel pursues interests such as horse riding, in which she tries to become a better rider through lessons, as she does not yet have her own horse! Additionally, while in Alaska she took up the sport of sea kayaking, for which she was in the perfect location. She hopes to continue improving her skills on Lake Michigan. When Rachel is not out doing those activities, she enjoys reading and learning about new hobbies she could take up!

Experience
Prior to working with Kristi Smith Consulting, Rachel managed a busy traveler’s hostel in Anchorage, Alaska, where she took care of all aspects of the hostel management, including bookkeeping, maintenance, employees, and guests. There, she experienced dealing with and meeting people from all over the world. Before Rachel’s move to Alaska, she spent time at a marketing company as a receptionist and sales assistant, and at a hospital as a surgery billing and records specialist.

Education
Rachel started working toward a B.A. in History at the University of Alaska, in addition to a two-year degree in Computer Information Systems, and is in the process of transferring to a school in Illinois. Some would say she is a perpetual student, but yes, she does plan to graduate soon! She has many interests, and took classes over a broad range of subjects before settling on her most-loved area, history.
